South Manchester Angling Club

Green Lane Waters

These two ponds on the Tabley Estate on the edge of Knutsford offer a variety of challenges to the discerning angler.  The larger of the two ponds holds predominantly carp and tench, having been stocked with these species several years ago.In addition, quality silver fish are present including roach, rudd and skimmer bream.  Many carp are present to low double figures.  The water is reed-fringed with large banks of lily pads to fish to in the summer months. No day tickets are issued - all anglers must be club members.

The smaller of the Green Lane waters is more aligned to the carp angler, having mirrors and commons to 26lb present.  Numerous double-figure fish also feature in catches on a regular basis.  Night fishing is allowed on these two waters, the only South Manchester ones to allow this, although there are additional rules to adhere to.

Fryer’s complex

A series of three mature yet intimate waters containing a mixed head of fish, predominantly roach and perch to 1.5lb, with bream to 3lb and ghost carp to low doubles.  Many methods can produce on these waters.  No day tickets are issued - all anglers must be club members.
